KJ Motorsports update...
Well race fans... welcome to 2012 race year. The KJMotorsports team has decided to take on the challenge this year by running in the "Little 500" in Anderson, Indiana on May 26th. For those who have never heard of this race, it is a 500 lap race with 33 cars starting 3-wide on a quarter mile racetrack. The beginning of the race is defiantly a sight to see. Cars have to qualify to get their starting position, which take place over a two day period. The first day of qualifying locks in the first 15 cars, and on day two, cars fight for the 16th-33rd places (similar to the qualifying for the Indy 500). Also during the race cars will have to make a minimum of two pit stops for fuel and tire changes. Keith has raced this race many times, however this will be his first time with his own team. With this being said, the team has been working hard on all the prep work that goes into this kind of race. "Geradline" has been striped down to bare frame, repainted and has started her reassembly process. We will post pictures of our progress shortly. Keith has also made strides to get prepared for this race...starting a diet and doing more exercising to get conditioned for the event. Stay tuned for more info and pictures of the progress...As of April 29th, We gotten quite a bit done on "Geraldine". Keith got the car on the ground, engine in and got the painted tail tank back from Eddie Curry. So Sunday he was able to get "her" fired off. The car sounds "GREAT"! The next step will be heading out on Friday May 4th to Citrus County Speedway in Inverness for some practice time.
